Jim Buell is a Communications Design Lead at IDEO Tokyo and works with Japanese brands to imagine and visualise new products and services using a combination of print, 3D rendering, and photography. Before moving to Tokyo to work at IDEO, Jim led the Communications Design team at London-based ROLI, a music/technology startup. He has led the creation of concept storytelling, ad campaigns, product imagery, and packaging in an effort to make highly designed, future-forward products and services accessible to many types of audiences. He enjoys finding innovative ways to communicate and is always eager to bring new technologies and practices into his work.
Jim holds a Masters Degree in Graphic Design from London College of Communication. Before pursing design, Jim worked as a photojournalist, interning for the Associated Press in Brussels and having images appear in newspapers such as The New York Times.
